Ariane 5 completes seven launches in 2012

This evening, an Ariane 5 launcher lifted off from Europe's Spaceport in French Guiana on its mission to place two telecom satellites, Skynet-5D and Mexsat Bicentenario, into their planned transfer orbits.
Liftoff of flight VA211, the 67th Ariane 5 mission, came at 21:49 GMT (22:49 CET; 18:49 French Guiana). The target injection orbit had a perigee altitude of 249.7 km, an apogee altitude at injection of 35 977 km and an inclination of 2°.

UK's Skynet military satellite set for launch

The UK military is about to get a powerful new telecommunications satellite, Skynet-5D.
The nearly five-tonne platform will complement three others already in orbit, enabling British forces to stay connected over most of the globe.
It will launch on an Ariane rocket from French Guiana late on Wednesday.

The Skynet 5D secure telecom satellite is received in French Guiana for Arianespace's December Ariane 5 mission

The fourth spacecraft to be orbited by Arianespace for the Skynet 5 military satellite constellation has been delivered to French Guiana, moving preparations into a new phase for a mid-December dual-passenger Ariane 5 mission.
Skynet 5D arrived today aboard a chartered Antonov An-124 cargo jetliner, which touched down at Félix Eboué Airport near the capital city of Cayenne. It was then readied for the road trip to the Spaceport, where this satellite will start pre-launch checkout.

Astrium ready to ship Skynet 5D for December launch

One of the UK Ministry of Defence's most radical private sector supply contracts is set to mark its halfway point with a dramatic increase in capability, as Astrium Services starts the final push towards a 19 December launch of the fourth satellite in its Skynet 5 secure communications constellation.

An Arianespace Ariane 5 ECA rocket is scheduled to launch the Skynet 5D and Mexsat 3 (Mexsat Bicentenario) communications satellites from Kourou, French Guiana, at 21:30 UT, 19th December, 2012.
