Orbital-Built Azerspace/Africasat-1a Communications Satellite Successfully Launched

Orbital Sciences Corporation (NYSE: ORB), one of the worlds leading space technology companies, today announced that the company-built Azerspace/Africasat-1a commercial communications satellite was successfully launched into orbit on February 7, 2013 aboard an Ariane 5 rocket from the Guiana Space Centre in Kourou, French Guiana. Lift-off took place at 4:36 p.m. (EST) and the satellite successfully separated from the rockets final stage approximately 37 minutes into the mission.
