Paul Friedrich Ferdinand Kempf (June 3, 1856-February 16, 1920) was a German astronomer.
Early in his career as an astronomer he aided German solar astronomer Gustav Spörer in his work to observe sun spot activity. Kempf joined an 1882 German expedition to Chile to observe the transit of Venus across the Sun. He was then part of solar eclipse missions to Russia in 1887 and 1914
