The first scientifically recorded meteorite fall in Estonia occurred on 4 July 1821, when a stony meteorite of the size of a man's head fell near the village of Kaiavere. According to eyewitnesses, a huge stone "whizzed from the east towards the west like an arrow. In a field at Kaiavere it hit the ground, split up with a terrifying crack and smashed into pieces". Although several people touched the still warm meteorite pieces, not a single meteorite fragment ever reached researchers. Source
