NGC 7140 (also NGC 7141, ESO 189-7, IRAS 21488-5548 and PGC 67532) is a magnitude +11.5 SBbc type barred spiral galaxy located 137 million light-years away in the constellation Indus.  

NGC 7140 was discovered by British astronomer John Herschel using a 47.5 cm (18.7 inch) f/13 speculum reflecting telescope at Feldhausen, Claremont, Cape Town on the 4th October 1834.
The galaxy was rediscovered by John Herschel on the 5th October and relisted as NGC 7141

Right Ascension 21h 52m 15.1s, Declination -55° 34' 11"
