NGC 7140 (also NGC 7141, ESO 189-7, IRAS 21488-5548 and PGC 67532) is a magnitude +11.5 SBbc type barred spiral galaxy located 137 million light-years away in the constellation Indus.
NGC 7140 was discovered by British astronomer John Herschel using a 47.5 cm (18.7 inch) f/13 speculum reflecting telescope at Feldhausen, Claremont, Cape Town on the 4th October 1834. The galaxy was rediscovered by John Herschel on the 5th October and relisted as NGC 7141
