Kilometre-wide asteroid discovered by Russia-run observatory

A New Mexico observatory operated by the Russian government discovers an asteroid a fifth the size of the one that killed the dinosaurs millions of years ago. But have no fear, this one is nowhere near earth, but it's called a near-Earth asteroid because it shares a similar orbit around the sun as the earth does. VoR's Ric Young talked about the stellar body with Dmitry Weibe, Head of the Department of Physics and Evolution of the Stars at the Institute of Astronomy at the Russian Academy of Sciences in Moscow.
