NGC 212 (also PGC 2417, ESO 150-18 and AM 0038-562) is a magnitude 13.4 elliptical galaxy located 380 million light-years away in the constellation Phoenix. It is the brightest member of the Abell 2806 galaxy cluster.
The galaxy was discovered by British astronomer John Herschel using a 47.5 cm (18.7 inch) f/13 speculum reflecting telescope at Feldhausen, Claremont, Cape Town on the 28th October 1834.
