NGC 7423 (also OCl 246) is a magnitude +13.5 open cluster located 13,535 light-years away in the constellation Cepheus.
The cluster was discovered by German-British astronomer William Herschel using a 47.5 cm (18.7 inch) f/13 speculum reflector at Windsor Road, Slough on the 1st November 1788.
