NGC 4648 (also UGC 7868, MCG 13-9-29, GWT 352.39, KAZ 31 and PGC 42595) is a magnitude +11.9 elliptical galaxy located 65 million light-years away in the constellation Draco.
The galaxy was discovered by German-British astronomer William Herschel using a 47.5 cm (18.7 inch) f/13 speculum reflector at Windsor Road in Slough, Berkshire, on the 22nd November 1797.
