NGC 7727 (also PGC 72060, MCG -2-60-8, IRAS 23367 2651, and Arp 222) is a magnitude +11.5 barred spiral/peculiar galaxy located 76 million light-years away in the constellation Aquarius.

The galaxy was discovered by German-British astronomer William Herschel using a 47.5 cm (18.7 inch) reflecting telescope at Clayhall Farm House in Old Windsor on the 27th November 1785.

Right Ascension 23^h 39^m 53.7^s, Declination -12° 17' 34"

Two starlike objects can be seen in NGC 7727's center, at least one of them likely being the former core of one of those two spiral galaxies. In addition to this, 23 objects candidates to be young globular clusters formed in the collision can be found in this system.
