NGC 2082 (also ESO 86-21, IRAS05415-6419 and PGC 17609) is a magnitude +11.8 face-on barred spiral galaxy located 60 million light-years away in the constellation Dorado.

The galaxy was discovered by John Herschel using a 47.5 cm (18.7 inch) f/13 speculum reflector at Feldhausen, Claremont, Cape Town, on the 30th November 1834.

Right Ascension 05h 41m 50.9s, Declination -64° 18' 05"

Supernova 1992ba, a Type II, was discovered by Robert Evans in NGC 2082
