NGC 1691 (also PGC 16300, UGC 3201, MCG 1-13-9, MK 1088, GWT 420.19 and IRAS04520 0311) is a magnitude +12.2 barred spiral galaxy located 210 million light-years away in the constellation Orion.
The galaxy was discovered by French astronomer Edouard Stephan using a 80.01 cm (31.5 inch) reflector at the Marseille Observatory on the 15th December 1876.
