Dash cam captures meteor speeding through Thursday's sky

The meteor zipped through the sky just at nightfall Thursday. A Missouri Highway Patrol trooper travelling on Highway 65 south of Sedalia, MO, spotted it and hit the record button on his dash cam that automatically records the last 30 seconds.

Security Camera Captures Possible Meteor Thursday Evening

People across the Midwest reported seeing a bright fireball streak across the sky Thursday evening ... and it was caught on camera in North Liberty.
The fireball, a possible meteor, was spotted at about 5:40 p.m. Thursday. Reports indicated that it was seen across many Midwestern states, including Iowa, Illinois, Minnesota, Missouri, Wisconsin, Nebraska and South Dakota.
