NGC 2163 (also DG 87, LBN 855 Magakian 172, and CED 62) is a magnitude +13.0 bi-polar reflection nebula located in the constellation Orion. The central star TYC 1317-311-2 is at magnitude +11.3
The nebula was discovered by French astronomer Edouard Jean-Marie Stephan, using the 80 cm (31.5 inch) reflector at the Marseille Observatory, on the 6th February 1874.
