NGC 4687 (also MCG 6-28-31, UGC 7958 and PGC 43157) is a magnitude +13.2 elliptical galaxy located 196 million light-years away in the constellation Canes Venatici.
The galaxy was discovered by British astronomer John Herschel using a 47.5 cm (18.7 inch) f/13 speculum reflector at Windsor Road, Slough, on the 11th March 1831.
