NGC 4390 (also IC 3320, IRAS12233+1044, UGC 7519, MCG 2-32-40, PGC 40602 and PGC 40597) is a magnitude +12.6 spiral galaxy located 51 million light-years away in the constellation Virgo.
The galaxy was discovered by German-British astronomer William Herschel using a 47.5 cm (18.7 inch) f/13 speculum reflector at Datchet, Berkshire, on the 15th March 1784. The galaxy was rediscovered by Arnold Schwassmann in September 1900 an relisted as IC 3320.
