NGC 5966 (also MCG 7-32-32, UGC 9923 and PGC 55552) is a magnitude +12.3 elliptical galaxy located 205 million light-years away in the constellation Boötes.
The galaxy was discovered by German-British astronomer William Herschel using a 47.5 cm (18.7 inch) f/13 speculum reflector at Windsor Road, Slough, on the 18th March 1787.
