NGC 2853 (also MCG 7-19-66, UGC 4987 and PGC 26580) is a magnitude +13.4 barred spiral galaxy located 81 million light-years away in the constellation Lynx.
The galaxy was discovered by German-British astronomer William Herschel using a 47.5 cm (18.7 inch) f/13 speculum reflector at Windsor Road, Slough, on the 18th March 1787.
