NGC 2838 (also MCG 7-19-61 and PGC 26434) is a magnitude 13.8 elliptical galaxy located 380 million light-years away in the constellation Lynx.
The galaxy was discovered by German-British astronomer William Herschel using a 47.5 cm (18.7 inch) f/13 speculum reflector on the 18th March 1787.
