NGC 2855 (also IRAS 09190-1141, MCG -2-24-15, UGCA 161 and PGC 26483) is a magnitude +11.7 lenticular galaxy located 87 million light-years away in the constellation Hydra.
The galaxy was discovered by German-British astronomer William Herschel using a 47.5 cm (18.7 inch) f/13 speculum reflector at Clayhall Farm House in Old Windsor on the 19th March 1786.
