NGC 2561 (also IRAS 11178+0351, MCG 1-29-32, UGC 6351 and PGC 23351) is a magnitude +13.2 spiral galaxy located 189 million light-years away in the constellation Hydra.
The galaxy was discovered by American astronomer Lewis Swift using a 40.6 cm (16 inch) Alvan Clark and Sons refractor at the Warner Observatory, East Avenue, Rochester, New York, on the 23rd March 1887.
