NGC 5955 (also MCG 1-40-6 and PGC 55510) is a magnitude +14.9 face-on spiral galaxy located 454 million light-years away in the constellation Serpens.
The galaxy was discovered by German astronomer Albert Marth using a 121.92 cm (48 inch) reflector at William Lassell's Tigné Point observatory in Sliema, Malta, on the 25th March 1865.
