NGC 3236 (also MCG 10-15-81 and PGC 30711) is a magnitude +14.3 elliptical galaxy located 427 million light-years away in the constellation Ursa Major.
The galaxy was discovered by British astronomer John Herschel using a 47.5 cm (18.7 inch) f/13 speculum reflector at Windsor Road, Slough, on the 25th March 1832.
