NGC 5085 (also ESO 508-50, IRAS 13175-2410, MCG -4-32-5, UGCA 349 and PGC 46531) is a magnitude +11.7 spiral galaxy located 90 million light-years away in the constellation Hydra.
The galaxy was discovered by German-British astronomer William Herschel using a 47.5 cm (18.7 inch) f/13 speculum reflector at Windsor Road, Slough, on the 26th March 1789.
