NGC 5101 (also ESO 508-58, IRAS 13190-2709, MCG -4-32-8, UGCA 351 and PGC 46661) is a magnitude +10.7 barred spiral galaxy located 86 million light-years away in the constellation Hydra.
The galaxy was discovered by German-British astronomer William Herschel using a 47.5 cm (18.7 inch) f/13 speculum reflector at Clayhall Farm House in Old Windsor on the 28th March 1786.
