NGC 2861 (also IRAS 09210+0220, MCG 0-24-10, UGC 4999 and PGC 26607) is a magnitude +13.7 face-on spiral galaxy located 334 million light-years away in the constellation Hydra.
The galaxy was discovered by German astronomer Albert Marth using a 121.92 cm (48 inch) speculum reflector at William Lassell's Tigné Point observatory in Sliema, Malta, on the 28th March 1864.
