NGC 5117 (also MCG 5-32-10, UGC 8411 and PGC 46746) is a magnitude +13.5 spiral galaxy located 110 million light-years away in the constellation Canes Venatici.
The galaxy was discovered by British astronomer John Herschel using a 47.5 cm (18.7 inch) f/13 speculum reflector at Windsor Road, Slough, on the 30th March 1827.
