NGC 3174 (also NGC 3144, MCG 12-10-23, UGC 5519 and PGC 29949) is a magnitude +13.4 spiral galaxy located 296 million light-years away in the constellation Draco.
The galaxy was discovered by German-British astronomer William Herschel using a 47.5 cm (18.7 inch) f/13 speculum reflector at Windsor Road, Slough, on the 2nd April 1801. The galaxy was rediscovered by Heinrich d'Arrest in September 1865 and relisted as NGC 3144.
