NGC 4292 (also MCG 1-32-16, UGC 7404 and PGC 39922) is a magnitude +12.2 barred spiral galaxy located 104 million light-years away in the constellation Virgo.
The galaxy was discovered by British astronomer John Herschel using a 47.5 cm (18.7 inch) f/13 speculum reflector at Windsor Road, Slough, on the 7th April 1828.
