NGC 4473 (also MCG 2-32-93, UGC 7631 and PGC 41228) is a magnitude +10.2 elliptical galaxy located 103 million light-years away in the constellation Coma Berenices. NGC 4473 is a member of the Markarians Chain, a group of at least seven seemingly inline galaxies in the Virgo Cluster.
The galaxy was discovered by German-British astronomer William Herschel using a 47.5 cm (18.7 inch) f/13 speculum reflector at Datchet, Berkshire, on the 8th April 1784.
