NGC 3786 (also Arp 294, MCG 4-28-104 and PGC 36158) is a magnitude +12.3 barred spiral galaxy located 123 million light-years away in the constellation Ursa Major. The galaxy is gravitationally interacting with the neighbouring galaxy NGC 3788: these two galaxies are listed as Arp 294 in the Atlas of peculiar galaxies by Halton Arp.
The galaxy was discovered by British astronomer John Herschel using a 47.5 cm (18.7 inch) f/13 speculum reflector at Windsor Road, Slough, on the 10th April 1831.
