NGC 3653 (also HCG 51C, MCG 4-27-29 and PGC 34905) is a magnitude +13.5 elliptical galaxy located 409 million light-years away in the constellation Leo. 
The galaxy is a member of the Hickson Compact Group 51.

The galaxy was discovered by German-British astronomer William Herschel using a 47.5 cm (18.7 inch) f/13 speculum reflector at Datchet, Berkshire, on the 10th April 1785.

Right Ascension 11h 22m 30.0s, Declination +24° 16' 47"
