NGC 5104 (also IRAS 13188+0036, MCG 0-34-31, UGC 8391 and PGC 46633) is a magnitude +13.7 spiral galaxy located 256 million light-years away in the constellation Virgo.
The galaxy was discovered by German astronomer Albert Marth using a 121.92 cm (48 inch) speculum reflector at William Lassell's Tigné Point observatory in Sliema, Malta, on the 12th April 1864.
