NGC 4689 (also IRAS 12452+1402, MCG 2-33-22, UGC 7965 and PGC 43186) is a magnitude +11.0 spiral galaxy located 74 million light-years away in the constellation Coma Berenices.
The galaxy was discovered by German-British astronomer William Herschel using a 47.5 cm (18.7 inch) f/13 speculum reflector at Datchet, Berkshire, on the 12th April 1784.
