NGC 4102 (also IRAS 12038+5259, MCG 9-20-94, UGC 7096 and PGC 38392) is a magnitude +11.2 spiral galaxy located 39 million light-years away in the constellation Ursa Major.
The galaxy was discovered by German-British astronomer William Herschel using a 47.5 cm (18.7 inch) f/13 speculum reflector at Windsor Road, Slough, on the 12th April 1789.
