NGC 4161 (also IRAS 12090+5800, MCG 10-18-2, UGC 7191 and PGC 38834) is a magnitude +13.0 spiral galaxy located 225 million light-years away in the constellation Ursa Major.
The galaxy was discovered by German-British astronomer William Herschel using a 47.5 cm (18.7 inch) f/13 speculum reflector at Windsor Road, Slough, on the 17th April 1789.
