NGC 3398 (also IC 644, MCG 9-18-38, UGC 5954 and PGC 32564) is a magnitude +13.6 spiral galaxy located 132 million light-years away in the constellation Ursa Major.
The galaxy was discovered by German-British astronomer William Herschel using a 47.5 cm (18.7 inch) f/13 speculum reflector at Windsor Road, Slough, on the 17th April 1789.
