NGC 4396 (also IRAS 12234+1556, MCG 3-32-34, UGC 7526 and PGC 40622) is a magnitude +12.6 spiral galaxy located 8.6 million light-years away in the constellation Coma Berenices.
The galaxy was discovered by German-Danish astronomer Heinrich Louis dArrest using a 27.94 cm (11 inch) 11" f/17.5 Merz-Refractor at Copenhagen Observatory on the 20th April 1865.
