NGC 3533 (also NGC 3557A, IRAS 11047-3654, MCG -6-25-2 and PGC 33647) is a magnitude +12.6 spiral galaxy located 144 million light-years away in the constellation Centaurus.
The galaxy was discovered by British astronomer John Herschel using a 45.72 cm (18 inch) f/13 speculum reflector at the Cape of Good Hope on the 22nd April 1835.
