NGC 5687 (also MCG 9-24-20, UGC 9395 and PGC 52116) is a magnitude +11.8 elliptical galaxy located 97 million light-years away in the constellation Boötes.
The galaxy was discovered by German-British astronomer William Herschel using a 45.72 cm (18 inch) f/13 speculum reflector at Windsor Road, Slough, on the 24th April 1789.
