NGC 5122 (also MCG -2-34-43 and PGC 46848) is a magnitude +13.4 spiral galaxy located 129 million light-years away in the constellation Virgo.
The galaxy was discovered by American astronomer Lewis A. Swift using a 40.6 cm (16 inch) Alvan Clark and Sons refractor at the Warner Observatory, East Avenue, Rochester, New York, on the 24th April 1887.
