NGC 4549 (also MCG 10-18-72 and PGC 41954) is a magnitude +15.2 spiral galaxy located 622 million light-years away in the constellation Ursa Major.
The galaxy was discovered by German-British astronomer William Herschel using a 45.72 cm (18 inch) f/13 speculum reflector at Windsor Road, Slough, on the 24th April 1789.
