NGC 3047 (also MCG 0-25-33, UGC 5323 and PGC 28577) is a magnitude +14.1 elliptical galaxy located 283 million light-years away in the constellation Sextans.
The galaxy was discovered by American astronomer George Washington Hough using a 46.99 cm (18.5 inch) refractor at the Dearborn Observatory on the 24th April 1883.
