NGC 5841 (also NGC 5848, MCG 0-39-1 and PGC 53941) is a magnitude +13.8 spiral galaxy located 57 million light-years away in the constellation Virgo. The galaxy was discovered by German-Danish astronomer Heinrich Louis d'Arrest using a 27.94 cm (11 inch) refractor on the 6th May 1862. The galaxy was rediscovered by Albert Marth on the 12th April 1864
