NGC 6685 (also MCG 7-38-15, UGC 11317 and PGC 62220) is a magnitude +13.4 lenticular galaxy located 302 million light-years away in the constellation Lyra.
The galaxy was discovered by American astronomer Edward D. Swift using a 40.6 cm (16 inch) Alvan Clark and Sons refractor at the Warner Observatory, East Avenue, Rochester, New York, on the 29th May 1887.
