NGC 6225 (also MCG+01-43-003, UGC 10556 and PGC 59024) is a magnitude +13.8 elliptical galaxy located 452 million light-years away in the constellation Hercules.
The galaxy was discovered by American astronomer Lewis A. Swift using a 40.6 cm (16 inch) Alvan Clark and Sons refractor at the Warner Observatory, East Avenue, Rochester, New York, on the 15th June 1887.
