NGC 6296 (also IRAS 17062+0357, MCG 1-44-2, UGC 10719 and PGC 59690) is a magnitude +13.4 barred spiral galaxy located 310 million light-years away in the constellation Ophiuchus.
The galaxy was discovered by German astronomer Albert Marth using a 121.92 cm (48 inch) speculum reflector at William Lassell's Tigné Point observatory in Sliema, Malta, on the 17th June 1863.
