NGC 6051 (also MCG 4-38-21, UGC 10178 and PGC 57006) is a magnitude +13.1 elliptical galaxy located 440 million light-years away in the constellation Serpens.
The galaxy was discovered by French astronomer Edouard Jean-Marie Stephan using a 80.01 cm (31.5 inch) reflector at the Marseille Observatory on the 20th June 1881.
