NGC 6269 (also MCG 5-40-12, UGC 10629 and PGC 59332) is a magnitude +12.2 elliptical galaxy located 479 million light-years away in the constellation Hercules.
The galaxy was discovered by German astronomer Albert Marth using a 121.92 cm (48 inch) speculum reflector at William Lassell's Tigné Point observatory in Sliema, Malta, on the 28th June 1864.
