NGC 6236 (also IRAS 16450+7052, MCG 12-16-8, UGC 10546 and PGC 58891) is a magnitude +11.9 barred spiral galaxy located 59 million light-years away in the constellation Draco.
The galaxy was discovered by American astronomer Lewis A. Swift using a 40.6 cm (16 inch) Alvan Clark and Sons refractor at the Warner Observatory, East Avenue, Rochester, New York, on the 28th June 1884.
